Mechanical engineering company from Cologne successfully sold

Cologne, 07.10.22, On 01.10.2022, the Cologne Insolvency Court opened insolvency proceedings for the assets of BOUS International Maschinenbau GmbH. It appointed lawyer and anchor partner Sarah Wolf from Cologne as insolvency administrator. On July 26, 2022, the company had filed an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings. The mechanical engineering company develops and builds cleaning and degreasing systems for numerous industries.

Wolf and her team have been supporting the provisional insolvency proceedings since July 27, 2022 and initiated a structured investor process, accompanied by the consulting firm venture advice. Due to the short time frame until the opening of the insolvency proceedings, the investor approach was aimed in particular at strategic investors. “The quality of BOUS machines and the expertise of the employees are well-known in the industry, which is why it was possible to find interested parties for the company in a short space of time and ultimately sell the business,” says Wolf, summarizing the sales process.

Wolf sold the company to BOUS Renzmann Cleantech GmbH when the proceedings were initiated. BOUS is now part of D.W. Renzmann Apparatebau GmbH, which has been building industrial washing machines and solvent distillation systems in Monzingen/Nahe since 1969, in particular for printers and paint and varnish manufacturers. The companies share a similar philosophy of manufacturing cleaning systems. The acquirer will take over the majority of the employees and retain the location in Cologne.
